Goert Giltay (born 1952, Zandvoort, Holland) attended the Academy of Arts Arnhem and the Film Academy in Amsterdam. Admiring the films of directors as Bob Rafelson, Antonioni, Fellini, Pasolini, Saura, Erice. After the Academy Goert worked for a decade as a cameraman on documentary films, mostly cultural or with art as subject. With a growing interest in making filmlight he got involved in drama and feature films. Influenced by d.o.p.’s like Kovacs, Almendros, Storaro, Willis, Giltay (also written as Giltaij) worked with a variety of directors on a long list of productions (see filmography) and received several awards.
